With great diligence, determination, and interest, the teachers and students of Palpung Sherabling Monastic College completed this year's classes on various subjects. From December 17 to 19, 2024, the three-day annual examination was conducted under the supervision of the monastic college's khenpos, acharyas, and teachers, who are highly skilled in expounding the vast array of sacred treatises.
Students of all levels, from those in first up to those in the eleventh-year class, sat for their respective written and oral exams on root texts, commentaries, and difficult points of several major subjects sutra and tantra treatises. The exams included subjects of grammatical treatises, such as "The Thirty Verses," "The Guide to Signs," and "The Orthographical Dictionary"; poetics, "The Guide to the Bodhisattva's Way of Life," epistemology, reasoning, and collected topics of logic; the major texts on madhyamika, prajnaparamita, vinaya, and abhidharma; the sacred scriptures of "The Profound Inner Meaning," "The Tantra of the Two Segments," and "The Treatise of the Sublime Continuum"; as well as "The Compendium of Valid Cognition" and its commentary.
