A Teaching on "The Three Principles of the Path"

June 14, 2023

Over the period of more than one month, Geshe Khedrub Norzang, a highly learned upholder of the monastic vows and the Tripitaka, completed the transmission of instructions on Guhyasamaja at Palpung Sherabling Monastic College to the college's khenpos, acharyas, and graduates, along with several tulkus, lamas, and teachers from other departments of the monastic seat. Lord Marpa Lotsawa received this transmission from Panchen Naropa and later passed it on as a single lineage to Tsurtön Wange of Dol. The transmission then gradually spread throughout all lineages of Tibetan Buddhism.

At the request of the monastic seat's community, on June 9, 2023 Geshe Khedrub Norzang then bestowed experiential instructions and teachings on "The Three Principles of the Path," to the entire monastic community of Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat. This text represents the quintessence of all pith instructions taught by Je Tsongkhapa, summarized in its three main features: renunciation, bodhichitta, and the wisdom which realizes emptiness.

To express their gratitude, the monastic seat's administration and monastic community then offered a mandala and the three representations, and as an auspicious conclusion of the transmission, Geshe Khedrub Norzang granted an audience to all the participants.
