Saga Dawa marks holy events in Lord Buddha's life, such as his birth, his enlightenment, and his parinirvana. According to the Kalachakra system of astrology, this year's fifteenth day of the Saga month was celebrated on May 16. The celebration the three holy events in the life of our compassionate Teacher at Palpung Jangchub Chöling in Patlikulh began with our nunnery's khenpo and nuns, the temple's resident lama, and a gathering of local devotees chanting auspicious verses, followed by an offering of a mandala and three representations in front of the Buddha's image and a traditional ceremony of tea and sweet rice served to everyone present. After that, the khenpo presented an introduction of this triple holy occasion. The celebration was concluded with the Mahakala practice, which included a ganachakra feast.
