On June30, 2022,all tulkus, khenpos, acharyas, lamas, teachers, and staff of various departments of Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat gathered together to celebrate the38thbirthday of His Holiness the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorje. The celebration began at 8 am at the mainshrine hall of Palpung Sherabling Monastic College with the online birthday celebration along with numerous related monasteries, led by the Gyalwang Karmapa himself.The program included an offering of a mandala along with representations of body, speech, and mind in front of the Gyalwang Karmapa's sacred image, a tea and sweet rice offering, long-life prayers, and an offering of birthday cakes and sweets along with chanting auspicious verses, and a presentation of calligraphies and drawings by the students of the monastic seat's Monastic Primary School.After that, everyone offered a white ceremonial scarf to the Gyalwang Karmapa's sacred image, which brings liberation upon seeing. The program then continued withan online smoke-offering puja,and at its conclusion, the monks planted various medicinal plants and trees.
