June 10, 2023 marked the first week after the parinirvana of the great vajra holder with the three vows Kyabje Yongzin Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche, a peerless protector of the Dharma and beings, who has achieved outstanding accomplishments in preserving and propagating the teachings of the Practice Lineage.
On that day, Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat's Administration arranged memorial offerings and prayers in commemoration of Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche's life and activities at Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat and its branch Palpung Yeshi Rabgyeling Nunnery, as well as at Thrangu Tashi Yangtse, in Namo Buddha, Nepal. The prayers were also dedicated for the fulfilment of all Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche's pure intentions, for the swift return of his reincarnation, and for his reincarnation to emulate the predecessor's life example.
At the monastic seat and the nunnery, ten thousand butter lamps were offered and after setting out all the substances for an elaborate ganachakra offering, their respective khenpos, teachers, and monastic communities gathered to conduct the memorial offerings based on guru sadhanas of Marpa and Milarepa.
At Thrangu Tashi Yangtse, Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche's own monastic seat in Nepal, the Venerable Zuri Rinpoche and the Venerable Lodro Nyima Rinpoche, along with tulkus, lamas, monks, nuns, and ngagpas of Thrangu Monastery and its branches, gathered to perform an entire day of memorial prayers based on the mandala of Protector Akshobhya.
