On August 1, 2023, to celebrate the parinirvana of Lord Gampopa, the sun-like heart disciple of the lord of yogis Milarepa, and to mark the day that the third Karmapa Rangjung Dorje's face appeared in the moon, Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat's entire monastic community gathered in its main shrine hall. The offering ceremony comprised the recitation of Gampopa Guru Sadhana, along with a ganachakra, the reading of Rangjung Dorje's three short treatises, and the offering of butter lamps and traditional "Full Moon" ceremonial music on the monastery's rooftop.
